Eyeliner Aftercare Advice

  • Do gently blot your eyelids with a clean tissue to remove any lymph fluid or excess moisture

    ✖ Do not touch them to avoid contact with bacteria or dirt. Keep the area dry and clean

    ✖ Do not get your eyeliner area wet in the shower or when washing your face

    ✖ Avoid washing your face, or using makeup removers around your eyes

    ✖ Do not apply makeup, mascara or any face creams over the treated area

    ✖ Do not expose your eyes to excessive heat, steam or saunas

    ✖ Do not sleep on your face to avoid putting pressure on your eyes and to prevent introducing bacteria

    ✖ No tanning (including spray tans!)

  • Your eyeliner will appear darker and more intense immediately after the treatment - this is completely normal and will soften as it heals.

    Your eyelids may feel slightly swollen, puffy or tender during the first 24 hours. If you really need to, you can use a cold compress wrapped in a clean tissue to help reduce swelling, but avoid applying pressure.

    In some cases you may notice some slight discharge or crust forming along the lash line - this is just lymphatic fluid. Gently blot it away with a clean, dry tissue to prevent excessive scabbing.

    Your eyes might feel a little sensitive to light or wind, so wearing sunglasses when outdoors can help.

    Keep the area completely dry, and avoid touching or rubbing your eyes. Do not apply makeup or mascara and be extra careful when washing your face to prevent any moisture from getting on the treated area.

  • ✔ Do keep applying the healing balm to prevent dryness, itching and flaking

    ✔ Do be gentle when washing your face and keep the area around the eyes dry by wipe the area carefully

    ✔ Avoid any harsh facial products or exfoliants near your eyes

    ✖ Do not rub, scratch or pick at any scabs or flaking skin, as this could affect pigment retention

    ✖ Expose your eyes to direct sunlight, tanning beds or extreme temperatures

    ✖ Do not use mascara, any eye makeup or creams / serums on the area until fully healed

    ✖ Do not sleep on your face to avoid putting pressure on your eyes and to prevent introducing bacteria

    ✖ No tanning (including spray tans!)

  • Over the next 14 days, your eyeliner will go through a healing process. The colour may look darker at first but will gradually soften to a more natural shade. Some light flaking or scabbing may occur - this is normal, but do not pick at it, as this can affect how the pigment heals.

    If your eyelids start feeling dry or tight, continue applying the healing balm I’ll give you at your appointment. Use a rice-sized amount and gently pat it along the lash line as often as needed to keep the area hydrated.

    You may also notice some uneven healing, with one eye appearing lighter or patchier than the other, this is normal and will balance out as your skin regenerates.

    Avoid exposing your eyes to excessive heat, steam, or sun and continue keeping the area dry to ensure the best results.

    If you wear lash extensions, wait until your eyeliner is fully healed (4 weeks after your top-up appointment!) before having them reapplied.

  • You can now get them wet!

    You can now apply make-up!

    Allow the colour to settle naturally - your eyeliner may appear lighter or slightly patchy before it evens out

    ✖ Do not use any strong makeup removers or exfoliants near your eyes

  • In week 3, your eyeliner may even look like it’s disappeared! This is because your new, pinkish skin cells are regenerating - it's nothing to worry about.

    If you wear lash extensions, wait until your eyeliner is fully healed (4 weeks after your top-up appointment!) before having them reapplied.

  • The colour will continue to evolve over the next 4 - 6 weeks.

    During the healing phase, it's normal to see areas of lighter colour or no colour at all, which is why we include a top-up session as part of your treatment.

    During these sessions, we will discuss how they've healed and add extra volume or colour boost if needed.

    If you wear lash extensions, wait until your eyeliner is fully healed (4 weeks after your top-up appointment!) before having them reapplied.
