Lip Blush Aftercare Advice

✔ Do gently blot them with a clean tissue to remove any lymph fluid
✔ Do apply a thin layer of the provided healing balm to keep lips hydrated
✔ Do keep your lips clean and dry, avoiding unnecessary contact as much as possible (e.g. smoking, kissing)
✔ Do allow the peeling process to happen naturally, flaking is normal!
✖ Do not touch, pick, or rub your lips, let them heal naturally
✖ Do not lick them or get them wet - I suggest using a clean straw for drinking!
✖ Eat spicy, salty or acidic foods that could irritate healing lips and dilute the fresh pigment
✖ Do not apply makeup, lip gloss or lipstick over the treated area
✖ No saunas or steam rooms
✖ No tanning (including spray tans!) -
You may notice some mild blanching or whiteness around your lips immediately after the procedure, this is completely normal and usually fades within a few hours.
Swelling is also common, especially in the first 24 - 48 hours, but it will subside.
Some people may experience slight bruising, which typically disappears within a week.
Your lips might also feel tender, tingly, or slightly sore, similar to a mild sunburn, this is all part of the healing process.
Right after your appointment, your lips will look more intense in colour than your usual lip tint or lipstick. This is completely normal and will soften as they heal.
You may also notice some dryness setting in quickly, this is expected, so keeping your lips hydrated with the recommended balm is key.
Some people experience a little lymphatic drainage (a clear fluid) within the first 24 hours. If this happens, gently blot it away with a clean tissue to prevent excessive scabbing.
Swelling may also make one side of your lips appear slightly different from the other at first, but don’t worry - this will even out as they heal.
Over the next few days, you might notice light flaking or a thin protective layer forming. let this shed naturally and don’t pick them for the best results!

✔ Do eat carefully, avoiding overly hot, salty, or spicy foods that may irritate your lips
✔ Do allow the peeling process to happen naturally, flaking is normal!
✖ Do not get your lips wet in the shower or when washing your face as much as possible - keep them dry and pat gently if needed
✖ Do not expose your lips to direct sunlight or tanning beds, as this can cause fading
✖ Do not use exfoliants, scrubs or aggressive skincare products around your lips
✖ Do not pick or peel any flaking skin, as this can affect healing and pigment retention
✖ Do not smoke or vape excessively, as this can dry out your lips and delay healing
✖ No saunas or steam rooms
✖ No tanning (including spray tans!) -
Over the next 14 days, your lips will go through a healing process. They may appear darker at first before softening into a more natural shade. Flaking and light peeling are normal - don’t pick at them!
Keep them hydrated and continue to use the healing balm as needed.
By the end of the second week, the colour may look lighter or patchy as your skin regenerates. This is completely normal, your touch-up appointment will perfect the final result!

✔ You can now use steam rooms and saunas✖ Do not use lip plumpers or strong exfoliating treatments until fully healed
✖ Do not worry if the colour seems uneven at first, this is part of the healing process!

In week 3, your lip colour may even look like it’s disappeared! Let your lips fully settle in week 4 as the colour may appear lighter or patchy before evening out

The colour will continue to evolve over the next 4 - 6 weeks.
During the healing phase, it's normal to see areas of lighter colour or no colour at all, which is why we include a top-up session as part of your treatment.
During this top up session, we will discuss how they've healed and give them a colour boost if needed.
